Layla Speaks Out – British Champion, Video Games, More

Layla recently spoke with Complex.com. Here are the highlights…

On What Fans Gets Out of Video Games: I think for the fans this is a dream come true. You get to see us on TV and sometimes you get to see us live, but with the video games you get to actually control us and pull off these moves. It just feels real and I’m sure it makes them feel like they’re in the ring or that they’re part of the match. And they get to pick their favorites, which is awesome.

On Becoming the First Ever British Women’s Champion: It was great to be Women’s Champ anyway, but to know I stamped something in history was mind-blowing, shocking, and it’s great to feel like I’m living the dream. It was a great moment.

On Being in a Video Game: It’s actually very surreal because they look real. Everything looks so real—the outfits and the facial expressions. It’s kind of creepy.

Extreme Rules 2011 – Michelle McCool OUT Kharma IN

As you all know that the mutual battle of BFF led to the “Loser Leaves WWE” match. And this time it was Layla, who picked up the biggest victory of her career by defeating her long-time BFF, Michelle McCool and forcing her to leave WWE.

Following a brutal physical brawl, Layla managed to roll-up Michelle for the win, thus ending the first ever Divas Champion’s career in WWE.

After the match Michelle McCool was greeted by arrival of Kharma whom gave an allmighty Implant Buster leaving Michelle in the center of the ring motionless. All this was seen by the WWE Divas in locket room who were stunned by the huge size and power of the new diva Kharma.

Snooki, LayCool, Trish Stratus Caught Partying Together Before WrestleMania

WWE Diva’s LayCool and Trish Stratus recently inhabited Mike’s Sports bar to shoot an angle that will air on RAW later tonight.

Aspiring WWE Diva Snooki was along for the ride, and the kayfabe-killing photo (shown above) of the four Divas having a good time at Mike’s Sports bar has surfaced online.

If the photo doesn’t tell enough of the story, Snooki was reportedly intoxicated while filming took place, and her high maintenance behavior created a headache for WWE producers.

The implications of the photo, coupled with the fact that WWE has shot an angle where a perennial party animal (in Snooki) is portrayed as a babyface, further muddies WWE’s current TV-PG format that has suddenly become ambiguous.

The Rock’s return promo, and John Cena’s homophobic taunts of the Rock in response to the aforementioned promo that brought about the ire of GLAAD activists, have been other recent examples of WWE’s continued TV-PG ambiguity.

The photo, although surfacing in an era where kayfabe is long gone, couldn’t have made Vince McMahon, kayfabe’s last martyr, very happy. The buddy-buddy photo of soon-to-be WrestleMania opponents inspires memories of the KLIQ incident in Madison Square Garden, where real life buddies Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Triple H broke character to share one last moment together at a live event.

If what happened to Triple H as a result of the infamous curtain call is any indication, LayCool had better get their flippers, wetsuits, and clothespins ready because they’re going to be doing some serious pig slop swimming.
