Lilian Garcia Victim of Assault and Attempted Mugging
Former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia was the victim of assault in an attempted mugging during the Yankee’s ticker tape parade on the streets of New York City on Friday.
“I just had a punk kid try and steal my phone,” Garcia wrote on Twitter. “Luckily, I held on tightly and he didn’t get it, but not be fore he threw me to the ground.”
A police report was filed, but unfortunately all they have to go on is CCTV. The crime isn’t thought to be linked to her high profile status.

The big news announced is that as of September 21, 2009, longtime WWE Raw announcer, Lilian Garcia is leaving WWE. The news was delivered online via various wrestling and gossip/Entertainment sites. Last night it was made official though as commentator Jerry Lawler informed the fans on Raw of Lilian’s last show. The announcer said her goodbyes and thanks to the WWE Universe for her ten year adventurous journey with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Lilian has been the best announcer in pro-wrestling over the past ten years and her boots/shoes will be hard to fill. She’s not only a beautiful WWE Diva with a great speaking voice, but she’s also got a singing career as well. In fact, Lilian has sung the national anthem before numerous WWE events. Her replacement has been rumored to be the new diva seen as a backstage interviewer on ECW named Savannah (Angela Fong, FCW).

The fact that WWE administrators have sent the knoll asking for a replacement goes a long way into confirming the reports. She is the lead ring announcer working for WWE’s raw band. The 43 year old diva from Madrid, Spain, had made her WWE debut in the year 1999 in RAW is WAR. Lillian sang for the first time at WWF engagement in the year 2000. If she finishes off this engagement on 24th of August this year, it will be the culmination of a 10 year long commitment.
