Mickie James Staph Infection Surgery Update
Mickie James has been released from the hospital and is now at home recuperating. Those who asked about her status at television last night were told there is no time table for her return at this time, but everyone was hopeful she would be back in time for Wrestlemania.
WWE acknowledged James’ staph infection yesterday in a post on their website. They disclose that she underwent two surgeries for a staph infection on her right leg.
“I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster,” she said. “I have no control of anything. At least with an injury you know for sure how long it is going to take.”

On next week’s SmackDown, Women’s Champion Mickie James will face Michelle McCool in a title match, featuring SmackDown Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero as guest referee.

In a stunning betrayal, Beth Phoenix turned on Mickie and knocked her to the canvas after tagging her in.
Then, The Glamazon knocked Michelle to the mat, as well. Undaunted, Mickie recovered from the traitorous act and rolled up Layla for the win.

As usual, the duo hurled insults, such as “Piggy James.” After exchanging words, the party was spoiled when a full-blown brawl broke out with Maria battling Layla, and Michelle battling Mickie.
Then, Beth Phoenix charged into the ring to join the fray. At first she hesitated as to which side she was going to choose, but then finally grabbed Maria and cleared her from the ring. And just when it looked like her wrath had subsided and that she and Mickie had joined forces to eradicate a common enemy, Beth suddenly hit the Glam Slam on the stunned Diva, assuring with supremacy over all.
