A new rumor suggests that a former WWE Women’s Champion may be returning to the company for a new storyline.

F4WOnline (via Lords of Pain) reports that WWE is close to bringing a name from the past to feud with current Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and Natalya.

However, it’s unknown who the Diva in question may be.

Thoughts: Bear in mind, this is all speculation and rumor for now. If indeed true, who could it be? Trish Stratus seems almost too likely considering she has already returned and done the WrestleMania thing. Recently retired Michelle McCool, perhaps? Personally, I’d love to see Lita back, and she did tweet today that she was filming an interview with WWE.

The pair will be part of a DLC pack which is due at the end of the year, along with the Bella Twins and Trish Stratus.

As noted earlier this week, former WWE Diva Trish Stratus spoke with with WWE.com to promote WWE ’12. In the interview, Stratus was asked whom she sided with in the Kelly Kelly and Eve vs. Beth Phoenix and Natalya feud.

I think my M.O. is more in line with that of Beth & Natalya,” said Stratus. “Once I entered WWE, it was a conscious decision for me to not be about modeling anymore — my career focus was all about what I did in the ring. I can, however, relate to Kelly Kelly & Eve. It’s tough, coming from one industry, to try and be taken seriously in another. That’s when it all comes down to just going out and proving yourself. All those girls are capable of doing that and leaving an impact in any world they decide to rock.”

Stratus also spoke about the Bella Twins, whom she feels have done a great job evolving in the sport.

“I’ve enjoyed watching them grow as performers,” she said. “To me, the greatest thing is watching someone get to the point where they’re comfortable and confident in the ring and then they can allow their character to develop Those two have done a great job of stepping into their role and owning it.”

Ahead of this year’s annual event which takes place on Sunday in New York. AJ picks the four team mates she would pick for a traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match.

AJ’s team includes three former WWE Women’s Champions: Lita, Molly Holly and Trish Stratus, as well as the late Hall of Famer, Eddie Guerrero.

Of the former Divas, she says: “When I was like 11 or 12 and wanted to get into wresting they were the reasons why, so it’d be awesome to be in the ring with them.”

AJ also says Eddie is her all-time favorite and she loved his attitude. “He kind of reminds me of my dad. Everyone in my family is a little spicy and playful. He just had the most personality in the ring I’ve ever seen. I love him.”

WWE beautiful Diva Trish Stratus is appearing at Tuesday’s night SmackDown taping in Toronto, Ontario and this is her hometown. WWE previously announced Edge will be appearing at the event but the Air Canada Centre website where the show will emanate from is confirm Trish Stratus and Hall of Famer Bret Hart for the show as well. Trish just launched her Stratusphere Living DVD and other products line in Canada and this could be a fun way for her to promote that in a backstage segment. Or could we see her in a match. Trish is a great role model for health, fitness and life after wrestling. This image is what WWE wants the audience to remember.

The new Stratusphere Yoga DVD from Trish Stratus is now available at London Drugs stores in Canada on next week On September 10th. Trish Stratus  will be making her appearance at the London Drugs on 66th Avenue in Langley, British Columbia from 12-1pm and at the London Drugs on Lougheed Highway in Burnaby, British Columbia from 3-4pm.  So be there if you want to be slim and fit like Trish.

Trish Stratus and Angelina Love teased a confrontation at this weekend’s Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, Ontario as both former champions will be on hand for the annual pop culture event.

Trish Stratus wrote on Twitter: Can’t wait for Fan Expo Canada Sun! I hear Angelina Love is gonna be there, I also hear she wants to fight me #torontothrowdown #canuckcuddle.”

The TNA Knockout responded, “I’m there on Saturday so maybe we can throwdown then and cuddle on Sunday!”

Former WWE Womens Champion Trish Stratus was backstage at Impact Wrestling live event at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario. Stratus lives nearby and was visiting some of her former WWE co-workers who now work for TNA. Stratus twitt on her Twitter account Trish’s former Diva colleagues, Mickie James and Tara were part of the tour and stayed with Trish at her home along with Winter.
